Visual Book
This project was a movie-to-book adaptation developed during my staying at Bezalel academy of Arts & Design.
Final, physical outcome was a printed reinterpretation of the movie “Caro Diario” by Nanni Moretti.
This book also consists of a series of hand illustrations inspired by scenes from the movie. The book was not only designed, but also made and bounded by myself. The aim of this project was to understand director’s production idea, even though, keeping it within the different usability of the media, and re-propose same feelings on paper
The cover folding on the right allows user to pause the reading of a book whenever desired. In the realization of this project,
I experimented with different binding techniques: the chosen technique was the binding by the sewing machine.
