Eastern Block is a unique Asian grocery located in Tel Aviv which, for a long time, has been offering its customers a quality selection of Asian grocery and appliances products, difficult to find in conventional distribution chains. Renowned in the local community of Asian cuisine enthusiasts, Eastern Block has decided to expand and renew itself with a new look in line with the needs of a digital world.
The main challenge of this project was to develop a functional UX/UI interaction for both a Western and an Israeli user base, whose writing/reading system are opposite: this led to the need to design the interface that it is easily usable in both reading senses; to foster this, Ploni a bilingual font has been choose as the main font: designed for an ideal side-by-side use of Latin and Hebrew characters this further enhance the dual-readability of the site.
